Honours even in Gosforth

Baseball made its first appearance in 2024 this weekend in Newcastle as the Wings hosted fellow Nighthawks the Talons in their first games of the 2024 NEBL season.

Game 1 was scoreless for the first 1hr 15 before the Wings broke a no-hitter and took a 2-0 advantage. Rob Parlane made a spectacular diving catch on the left field fence halting a Talons grand slam to keep the Wings ahead but this was undone in the final inning when at 2-2 Eliot Rosenstock hit a grand slam over the right field fence and the Talons finished the game 7-2.

Game 2 saw two majorly different sides take to the field with a handful of players playing in their first ever game. The Wings took the victory and now look toward a trip to Edinburgh in two week's time.
